Connecting the dots

..it is impossible to connect dots looking forward, but it was very very clear looking backwards.…you have to trust that the dots will be somehow connected in the future, you have to trust in something…because believing that the dots will be connected down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart even when it leads you out of the well worn path, and that will make all the difference.

Love and loss

…I still loved what I did…I’ve been rejected, but I was still in love and so I decided to start over…The heaviness of being successful was replace but the lightness of being the beginner again, less sure about everything…It was awful tasting medicine but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life is gonna hit you in a head with a brick. Do not loose faith…You’ve got to find what you love and that is as true for work as for your lovers. You work is gonna fill a large part of your life and the only was to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you have not found it yet keep looking and do not settle. As with all matters of the heart you’ll know when you find it and like any great relationship it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking, do not settle!

Death

…If you live each day as if it was your last- someday you will most certainly be right… If today was the last day of my life what I an gonna do, what I am about to do today? And whenever the answer has been “no” for two any days in a row I know I need to change something. Remembering that we all going to be dead soon is the most important tool I ever encounter to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything: all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure, these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to loose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart… No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don’t want to die to get there. Death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because death is very likely the single best invention of life! It is life’s change agent. It clears up the old to make wave for the new. Right now the new is you! But some day, not too long from now you will gradually become the old and be cleared away…Your time is limited, so do not waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma, which is living with results of other people thinking. Do not let the noise of others opinion drawn your own inner voice. And most important have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become, everything else is secondary…Stay hungry, stay foolish!

Stay hungry, stay foolish!
